Tarami Nozomi Hall & Nozomi Park
Isahaya, NagasakiKyushu
Colorful koinobori flying against the Omura Bay backdrop
Held every year from mid-April to mid-May on the hilltop 'Tarami Nozomi Hall & Nozomi Park' in Isahaya, Nagasaki, 'Spring Koinobori Nagashi' strings carp streamers — donated by local residents — on ropes leading from the Nozomi Hall rooftop down to the park's outdoor stage, so that many carp glide across the spring sky against a backdrop of Omura Bay and the Taradake mountain range. During Golden Week it draws many families to the children's play area, grass sledding slopes and large lawn plaza. The hall also has an observation bath, making this a lesser-known spot where visitors can enjoy both koinobori and hot springs.
