This exhibition at the Japan Toy Museum in Himeji, Hyogo explores regional seasonal dolls used in the Tango (Boys' Day), Hinamatsuri, and Tanabata festivals. Building 6 showcases folk dolls from across Japan, with particular focus on the evolution of warrior dolls and armor helmets from the late Edo through Showa periods. The museum houses one of Japan's finest collections of toys and dolls from approximately 160 countries worldwide, making this a rare opportunity to learn about the deep history of seasonal festival dolls.
