The Hashimoto Tanabata Festival is a long-running event in the Hashimoto district of Midori Ward, Sagamihara, confirmed for August 7-9, 2026. The shopping streets near the north exit of Hashimoto Station are decorated with colorful handmade streamers created by local shops, groups and residents, filling the area with Tanabata atmosphere. Stage performances, parades, Awa-odori dancing and numerous food stalls make it enjoyable for all ages, and as a community-wide festival representing Hashimoto's summer it draws large crowds each year.
