Yokohama Tanabata Festival

The Yokohama Tanabata Festival is a new summer event held at Rinko Park and Pacifico Yokohama in Minatomirai. In 2026 it runs July 4-5 from 10:00 to 21:00. The waterfront park features a Tanabata wish-strip area where visitors can hang their wishes, alongside fair booths, a gourmet area gathering popular Yokohama foods, and workshops for families and couples. Inside Pacifico Yokohama, a three-dimensional light show called Beam Twister, said to use the world's first giant robotic-arm structure, creates a dramatic, dreamlike night. The Rinko Park venue is free to enter.
