About This Event

With over 70 years of history, the Fussa Tanabata Festival is a leading Tanabata event in Tokyo's Tama area, running August 7-9 in 2026 (76th edition). The streets around the west exit of JR Fussa Station are decorated with bamboo and handmade ornaments by local shops and groups. Thanks to its location near the US Yokota Air Base, the festival has a strong international flavor, with multinational food stalls, stage events and parades. Nicknamed the Fussa Worldwide Festival, it draws large crowds from near and far as a lively summer tradition.
