Since 1984, 'Swim! Koinobori-kun' has displayed about 250 koinobori along the Shichiri-mihama Beach in Kumano City, Mie Prefecture, part of the World Heritage Kumano Kodo route. With the natural monument Shishi-iwa (Lion Rock) as a backdrop, koinobori dancing in Pacific Ocean breezes offer a uniquely liberating seaside experience. Run by local youth group 'Minna no Koinobori no Kai.'
