The 75th Takefu Chrysanthemum Doll Exhibition

One of Japan's three great chrysanthemum doll exhibitions, filling the grounds with some 20,000 plants. The 75th edition in 2026 takes yokai as its theme, and combines the flower displays with a revue by the OSK Nippon Revue Company and a full set of fairground rides.

Nochi no Hina Doll Festival in Tondabayashi Jinaimachi

Tondabayashi, Osaka

A revival of the Edo-period custom of displaying hina dolls alongside chrysanthemums around the Choyo festival, staged in Tondabayashi's preserved Edo-era merchant district. Also called kiku-bina, it is enjoyed as an adults' doll festival wishing long life for families and couples.

The 70th Nihonmatsu Chrysanthemum Doll Exhibition

Nihonmatsu, Fukushima

One of Japan's three great chrysanthemum doll exhibitions, held in Kasumigajo Park. The 70th edition in 2026 takes as its theme "The Bonds of the Toyotomi and the Pride of the Niwa," with life-size figures clothed in living chrysanthemums recreating scenes from history.

Nanyo Chrysanthemum Festival (Miyauchi Venue)

Nanyo, Yamagata

The first half of the Nanyo Chrysanthemum Festival, said to be the oldest in Japan. Chrysanthemum flower art is displayed around Kumano Taisha, one of Japan's three great Kumano shrines, before the festival moves to the Hana Park venue.
